The 28-year-old libertarian was scheduled to speak about criminal justice reform at the event, which was held in support of her friend, Brooklyn borough president hopeful Ben Kissel.

But before she could take the podium, a man dumped a full 1.5-liter bottle of water on her, drenching her completely.

“When I turned to look at him, he splashed even more water directly in my face before running out,” Timpf recalled.

Timpf said she was so shaken by the incident that she was unable to deliver her speech.

“I’m shocked, I’m stunned. I’m obviously upset,” she wrote.

She expressed frustration over what she called the “disgusting, insane, cruel climate” of political discourse today.

“Verbal attacks on Twitter aren’t enough anymore? I’ve had it. I’m an actual human being, with a soul, a family, and feelings.”
