New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge has missed significant time in the outfield. While the slugger is currently playing as the team’s designated hitter, his defensive troubles seem to be growing.

Aaron Judge

Judge suffered a right flexor strain on July 22. The Yankees placed him on a 10-day injured list, but he’s not ready to return to complete form. Despite the slugger’s MRI showing no damage to his ulnar collateral ligament, manager Aaron Boone has shared a troubling update.

Boone stated that Aaron Judge might not get back to throwing like he used to. Judge playing the outfield seems to be questionable for the rest of the season.

“I don’t think we’re going to see him back to throwing like he normally does at any point this year. We’re trying to get through where he can let it go with ease and be able to protect himself,” Aaron Boone said.

At present, the Bronx Bombers have a couple of players to take up Judge’s place. Yet, his outfield absence might cost the team. Judge has a powerful arm, but the Yankees need him more at the plate.

Recently, Giancarlo Stanton had a minor setback after playing in the outfield. The good news is that the Yanks have Trent Grisham and newly acquired Austin Slater. Cody Bellinger will continue to play a vital role in the outfield as well. Jasson Dominguez is the other option, but his fielding mishaps have been quite noticeable.

Aaron Judge was the perfect outfielder for years. Luckily, the slugger will continue his strong offensive contribution to the team. Judge is slashing .333 with 39 home runs and 91 RBIs. He’s been excellent at the plate and will play a vital role in the playoffs. Without Aaron Judge, it’s safe to say the Yanks will be in trouble. Hopefully, he will get back on track.
