Bad Bunny is going to have some competition on Super Bowl Sunday. For the past few weeks, the Puerto Rican superstar has faced backlash from conservatives after he was named the Super Bowl halftime performer.

Trump advisor Corey Lewandowski immediately came out to bash the NFL for choosing Bad Bunny to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show.

“It’s so shameful they’ve decided to pick somebody who seems to hate America so much to represent them at the Halftime Show… If there are illegal aliens, I don’t care if it’s a concert for Johnny Smith or Bad Bunny or anybody else. We’re going to do enforcement everywhere. We are going to make Americans safe. That is a directive from the president. If you’re in this country illegally, go home.”

Even President Trump himself has spoken out against the NFL’s selection of Bad Bunny as the Super Bowl halftime show performer.

“I don’t know who he is, I don’t know why they’re doing it — it’s, like, crazy,” Trump said. “They blame it on some promoter they hired to pick up entertainment. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”

On Thursday, Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA, now run by his wife Erika, revealed that they would host their own Super Bowl halftime show to counterprogram Bad Bunny.

Turning Point USA published a questionnaire asking fans what kind of music they would like to see, with one of the options being “anything in English.”

As of now, it’s unclear who will perform for Turning Point USA, but it’ll be interesting to see how many viewers they can steal away from the actual NFL Super Bowl halftime show.
