As he wanted to step out, my dad ordered him to go back in and sit down and sit properly. My older brother was 55 years, Ijeoma was 47 whole Amaka was 42. My mom took a little while before she started giving birth to me and Zara, again. Which she end after given birth to Zara and I because things became really tough and even tougher than she thought then. Ijeoma was the stubborn one, but the most stubborn, the most craziest was Zara. Ijeoma bellowed and Amaka followed.
“Dad, what’s the meaning of this nonsênsë, mom, who told you about Kaima and what money again. Who gave Kaima such money, Kaima that could be dēáth a long time, for all we know. If Kaima had so much money and was still alive, why haven’t you people heard from her or anybody else. What’s the meaning of this nonsênsë accusations, you don’t talk to us as if we’re kids. Is Kaima still alive, where did she made so much money, how did she even contact us to give such huge money you mentioned. Or is it audio money and Kaima in the dream, because only the dēáth you don’t hear from for so many years. So please, Dad, stop all these because I got business to attend to…” Sister Ijeoma said
My dad removed his glasses and stood up. “The next time you respond to me in that manner you will regret it. Tell me something, you all sudden wealth, the big shops and big company you all have. Chuks, tell me what business you’ve been doing before now. You were just an ordinary Clark, just an ordinary Clark in the court. You quit your job just a few years ago, the marriage you did up to your wedding dress. Was it my daughter, Kaima, that sponsored everything from abroad?. Ijeoma, you were just a sales representative which your salary wasn’t more than 80k. You became a big business woman, divorced your struggling husband. Now drive around with big cars, owning two biggest shops. How did you do it, and what suddenly happened. And you Amaka, how much does your husband earn, how much did you earned from your previous job. You became the chairlady association of all jewelries and beads and stone golds and Ankara and bags, golds. Just name them. When you were just nothing but an assistant manager, in Niel hotel in wuse, tell me how much you used to earn, 70k. How did you maneuver, metamorphose into such, tell me. Because if you all don’t talk now, I will cürsê the day I ever gave birth to you all…” My dad said and continue
“Chuks, you own a big gadgets company and a real estate firm, your üsēlèss insolent wife. That üsēlèss Rūdê and ãrrögãnt wife of yours is now, all of sudden run two big boutiques and a very big garden in garki. Oh, you all are in awe, right, you all thought we wouldn’t know what you all are doing one after the other?. At first, I thought luck shined on you, and you neglected us, I never knew it was my baby’s money. The money she’s been sending for you all to use and build house for us. To take care of us, make us leave a good life and out of poverty. So what pray tell do you all have now. Huh? I’m waiting, because you all, none of you are leaving here. We had to feign your mother’s dēáth, God forbid my wife. Just so you people could come to see us. And I tell you all these, whatever you did to us and are still doing to us your parents, you children will do worsê to you all. Now answer me and answer me quick all of you right now. Has my daughter been sending money for us and has she been communicating to you all?…” My dad asked again this time, aggressively
Amaka stood up angrily and paced before my father. Dad, I hate nonsênsë and you know that, we made money and God answered us. What if we’ve been saving, and because we did those little jobs before. You think we couldn’t go far, was that your plan for us. I am leaving this house and let me see who, whoever that will stop me. You called us here to feign dēáth, so you could tell us to our faces that, a girl we’re not even sure is alive. A girl who might’ve been long dēáth and gone, since nobody has ever heard from all all these years gave money. Such a huge amount of money, where did she got such money. Are they packing money in Canada or anywhere abroad for her to make such money?…” She said and my voice echoed from behind, as I walked out with tears in my eyes
“No! They don’t pack money abroad, I worked for it and so does everyone. Nobody packed money, Amaka, you said to see anybody that will stop you. I am here to stop you all. Now, mom and dad asked a question and I am going to ask my own different questions. And you all, all of you, had better give me a straight answer right now….” I said with my hands tucked in my pocket
I stood before them, huge, tall, elegant, classy and exquisite with poise. When you see me and look at me, when you check me out from my head down. You’ll know and believe that I’ve made money, because what I put on my body is worth millions here in naira. They were all shocked, I felt a cold shiver ran through them, as it ran through me as well, when I heard them. The three of them looked at each other and they thought they had seen a ghost. It was as if they had seen a ghost, I stood before them and then walked to sit beside my dad. I gaze upon them all. With an ire, it was such that, I could swallow them whole and seeing them I feel I should whooshed a the sight of them. They couldn’t open their mouths, they’ve not really seen me life. They always most of the times on the calls seem just my face, just a face card. They didn’t really know how much I’ve grown and how I’ve look and what I’ve become. They thought they had seen a ghost.
